How much should you charge for your OnlyFans subscription?
Updated
Many Creators starting out on OnlyFans think the subscription is how you make money. It isn’t. Most of what an account earns comes from Chatting, which means talking to Fans in private messages and offering them paid exclusive content (PPV) that they buy right there in the chat. On top of that come the tips they leave.
In an account that really earns, subscriptions are under 10% of income. If yours are over 50%, the price isn’t the problem. The Chatting is.

What the subscription is for
If the subscription isn’t what makes the money, its job is something else. It puts a barrier at the door of your account, and how high that barrier should be depends on your goals and where you are now.
A high price with a discount
The subscription price isn’t fixed, and accounts that do well change it often. OnlyFans sets a minimum of $4.99 a month, but a discount can take you below that. Most Creators charge between $5 and $25.
A subscription of around $15 with a big discount works better than $3 with no discount, even though the Fan pays the same. The discount doesn’t last, so it pushes them to subscribe now. And the original price tells them your account is worth more than that.

CLV, what a Fan is worth
All of this comes down to CLV (customer lifetime value), what a Fan brings you while subscribed. You get it by multiplying what they spend a month by the number of months they stay.
Not every Fan is worth the same. Some, once they’re in, buy PPV and leave tips. They’re the spenders. Others spend nothing. They want to chat, but they don’t buy content or tip. They’re the time wasters.
The subscription is the filter that lets the first group in and holds the second back. Set it too low and you get plenty of curious people who message with no intention or money to buy. They waste your time and take attention away from the Fans who do pay. Set it too high and you shut out spenders who don’t know you well enough yet to pay that much, or who only log in to OnlyFans now and then.
The price depends on your strategy
There’s no right price for everyone. It depends on where you are.
- If you’re starting out and want your fanbase to grow, a low subscription brings Fans in faster. Once your Fan numbers are high, you can do SFS (shoutout for shoutout) with other Creators.
- If you already have loyal Fans who spend, a higher subscription and more personal attention for each of them can earn more.
Whichever you choose, you’ll need to measure. Try different prices, watch how your fanbase responds, and work out your Fans’ average CLV every so often to see if it’s going up.
You don’t have to do it alone
You can do all of this yourself. But add Chatting at any hour of the day, content for social media, running every platform, trends that change every week and the new content you have to shoot. That’s why many Creators choose to work with an agency to take their account to the next level.
At Panther, our Chatters cover your chats 24 hours a day in shifts, with scripts built to raise each Fan’s CLV. We test your subscription price and track the numbers for you. The account and the content stay yours, and you pay nothing upfront. We only earn when you get paid.
